Bridge Champ is the same game on your phone or tablet: the same account, the same tournaments, clubs and challenges, with a layout made for a small screen.
📋 At a glance
What it is: The Bridge Champ app for iPhone, iPad and Android.
Who it is for: Anyone who wants to play away from the computer.
You will need: A phone or tablet on Android 7.0 or later, or iOS 15.1 or later, with a screen of 375x667 pixels or more.
Download on the App Store | Get it on Google Play
Sign in with the username and password you use on the website, or with Google, Facebook, Apple or your ACBL account. See Sign In With ACBL in the Mobile App. If you created your account through one of those sign-ins you can set a password from the Account screen and sign in either way.
- Play Now: a game with bots, rated play, minibridge (Trick Taker, Dummy Peek or Blind Count), a bidding practice table, or Play with people, which puts you on a waiting list and seats you with other players as soon as enough are waiting, alone or with a partner. When you create a table or are invited to one, you see the names of the players.
- Tournaments, with the same tabs and filters as the website. Team leaders can register a team for a teams tournament from the app and seat the players for every round; invited players are taken straight to the tournament. ACBL sanctioned bot tournaments, which award masterpoints, can be played from the app too; see Tournaments.
- Challenges: player, group and bot challenges. Tap a player's picture on the Challenges page to follow them, chat with them or open their profile.
- Clubs: your club's tournaments and bidding quizzes, playable in the app. Quizzes are sorted into the teacher's folders, and the finished ones sit under Closed. Each club shows how many new posts you have not read, and you get a notification when a new quiz opens. See For Clubs.
- Vugraph, History, Friends, Chat and Teams from the menu. In a private chat, tap the other player's name or picture to open their profile and follow, message or challenge them. On any profile, tap a club to open it or ask to join.
- Play with your phone upright. During a game open Table Options and choose how the table sits: vertical or horizontal, locked that way or following the sensor. The same place has display options for the side hands and the size of the cards (see Make the Cards Bigger).
- Singletons and your last card play themselves when you play with three bots. Turn this off under Profile, Settings, Preferences if you prefer to play every card.
- Claiming: the claim dialog opens with all the remaining tricks selected, so claiming the rest is one tap.
- Your bot partner's contract. When your bot partner declares, choose whether the table rotates so the dummy stays on top, or everyone stays where they sat. This choice, your board theme and your casual table scoring follow your account on every device; change them in your account settings.
- Results have a redesigned screen that works upright and sideways. In a tournament or group challenge, tap another player in the standings to compare their boards with yours, side by side. From the results of a board you can replay it with bots, choosing your seat and where to start.
- Dates and times follow your phone's regional format and your language, or the Date format and Time format you choose under Profile, Settings.
- Sharing. Every share button opens a dialog with the link and a Bridge Champ QR code you can copy, share or send as an image. Links to tournaments, results and challenges open straight in the app when it is installed; otherwise they take you to the store. See Sharing and QR Codes.
- Profile picture: one tap to take or choose a photo, and a button to remove it.
The app notifies you when a tournament or challenge you played is over, and push notifications for club and team invitations, and for requests to join your club, say what they are about. After you have played a while the app invites you to rate it in the store; the About screen has a direct link to leave a review. Tapping a results notification opens the results, even if the app was closed. If the connection drops for a moment the app reconnects on its own, and it tells you when your account is being used on another device.
