Bridge champ implements an advanced scoring method that combines both IMPs and BAM scoring elements into a single score to enjoy the best of both worlds. Compared to IMPs scoring the impact of a single board with a huge point difference is reduced, compared to BAM the impact of a single small win is halved.
This system is inspired by the Patton scoring method but does not align with any specific Patton implementation. You can also refer to it as the "Champ" scoring method.
When using the Patton scoring method, a team score is calculated by adding the two factors:

In a team match of T1 vs. T2 of 2 boards on the first board there was a tie, on the second board T1 won by 12 IMPs.
The BAM score of T1-T2 is clearly 3 to 1
The victory points score normalized from a range of 0-20 to a range of 0-4 is 3.5 to 0.5
Therefore the Patton score for the match is (3 + 3.5) vs. (1 + 0.5) resulting in 6.5 to 1.5 score.
