¶ Convention Cards on Bridge Champ
¶ What is a Convention Card?
A Convention Card outlines the bidding system and defensive agreements used by a bridge partnership. It includes strategies for opening bids, responses, overcalls, leads, and signals.
These cards promote transparency during play and help opponents and tournament directors understand each pair’s agreements. On Bridge Champ, Convention Cards are fully digital and can be uploaded, managed, and shared online.
¶ Uploading a Convention Card
To upload your Convention Card:
- Click your profile picture on the top-left corner of the homepage.
- Go to the Profile section and open Convention Card.
There are two categories:
- Templates: Default Convention Cards available to all users.
- Personal: Cards you upload and assign to a specific partner.
To create a new personal card:
- Click Create New.
- Upload your PDF file.
- Enter a card title and assign a partner using the Search Player option.
- Click Save.
¶ Using a Convention Card During a Game
To view your Convention Card during a game:
- Click the Convention Card button in the right-hand game menu.
The panel shows:
- “We”: Your own Convention Card (with view/download options).
- “They”: Opponent's card, if uploaded.
When playing with a bot, a default Bot Convention Card is used. This card is read-only and cannot be edited.
¶ Convention Cards in Tournaments
Tournament organizers can upload an official Tournament Convention Card. If a pair has no card assigned, the tournament card becomes their default.
This ensures consistent play and transparency, especially in random partnerships or official competitions.
